Finding the right place for a loved one to recover from a surgery or other hospital stay can sometimes be a stressful situation.

Stonehenge lowers the stress with two conveniently located facilities (one in American Fork and one in Orem) ready to meet every patient’s needs. In addition to best-in-class amenities, comfortable accommodations and beautiful interior design, Stonehenge offers the finest in nursing care.

Knowing that when it comes to nursing care “more is better,” Stonehenge employs a better nurse-to-patient ratio than other rehabilitation centers. Not only are there more nurses, but they are excited to come to work.

“I get asked all the time by my nursing friends if we’re hiring,” says Annette Durfee, director of nursing at Stonehenge of Orem. “This is a place where nurses want to work.”

Happy nurses are better nurses. So are nurses who are supported by good doctors directing their work. Dr. Lawrence Nobuhara, an internal medicine specialist, is the medical director for both Utah Valley facilities and is engaged in each patient’s ongoing care.

“He’s personally available 24 hours a day,” says Leslie Spencer, director of nursing at Stonehenge of American Fork. “Traditionally after-hours medical direction comes from a pool of doctors. However, Dr. Nobuhara gives each patient consistency of care you rarely find in facilities like ours.”

Besides the fine physician and nursing care, Stonehenge’s physical and occupational therapists develop customized treatment plans that involve the patient and loved ones.

“We involve the whole team in our approach to treating the patient,” Leslie says. “That in- cludes family members. We want them to know what the plan is and how we’re working for the patient.”

Potential patients (and loved ones) are en- couraged to visit either Stonehenge facility to find out more about what the professionals can do to aid in a quick recovery.
